Using Affiliate Companies to Make Money Online

Homestead Website Make Money
What is an affiliate company and how does this work? Can I really make money online? Basically, in order to become associated with these companies you will be acting as a sales person for their products. The Internet is filled will banners and text links that affiliates (sales middle men and women) place in strategic places on their web pages in order to try and sell other peoples merchandise, products or services and make money online.
Once a sale is made, the affiliate gets a commission recorded in the sales statistics area of the companies website. You will have access to your stats through entering your membership login information.

If you are interested in making money online with your Homestead website, but you do not have a product to sell, you can find other peoples products to promote by looking at the bottom of their website pages. This is usually the area where you will see the words, “affiliate.” Basically, you have to fill out an information form application and then wait to be approved by the company in order to be able to sell their products.

If you want to become an affiliate for some company, I suggest that you stick with products and services that are related to your website niche. If your website is about building model air plans, then look for companies that sell those items and sign-up to be a sales affiliate for them. It makes no sense at all to try and sell horse riding items on a guitar website. People will find your website because they are interested in your niche. So, sell them products that are related to what they were looking for when they found you.

As an example, one of the programs that I am associated with is Aweber. I have been making money online with them for a couple of years now through one of my Homestead websites. The companies’ products are great for automating your email service and for selling products. I am a sales associate with them because my niche is building websites and Internet marketing. Email marketing fits perfect with what I my website is about. I use the product and believe in what I am selling. Every time someone signs up for membership and continues to use the program, I will get a commission off of the sale.

You should never have to pay anyone to sell their products. Good affiliate companies will structure their sales association in such a way that the affiliate will not have to pay anything to become a sales person.

Popular Affiliate Programs

1) Amazon
2) Google Adsense
3) Commission Junction
4) Clickbank
5) Kontera
6) Linkshare
7) As Seen On TV

Every company has its own set of parameters. Something to be aware of is most of the revenue generating opportunities will have minimum amounts of sales that you must reach before you receive a pay check.

For example: Commission Junction requires that their affiliates must have $100 in sales before they will receive a check.

Building Homestead websites is fun and if you work the system well, you can generate enough money to pay for your website hosting. Making money in this manner requires that you have targeted traffic. The larger the volume of visitors is coming to your Intuit/Homestead website the more money you will make. This of course is totally dependent upon how well you structure the affiliate sales banners and text links on your pages. Your website design will play an important part in the process of making money with affiliate programs.
