I’ve developed many free Homestead website tutorials that can help you learn ow to use the Intuit Sitebuilder. You can learn how to get top rankings with search engines by studying these Homestead SEO videos. In case you are a beginner in using the Intuit web builder, I have developed a complete series of videos that will teach you what all of the various functions are and how they work.

On this blog you will find Intuit website tutorials that can be watched by simply scrolling through the video’s category located on the menu bar. Link building, adding Adsense, embedding a Google calendar and advanced keyword research are just a small portion of the lessons we have provided on this blog. This particular site is just one location where we provide information, tools and tips for working with the Site Builder.

The largest collection of tutorials for a Homestead website owner to learn from are the ones we provide in the Marketing Center. In the collection of lessons- there are blog posts, videos, audios, e-books and links to top sites on the Internet that you can learn from quickly. A wealth of knowledge can be instantly available to you that will greatly increase the speed at which you learn and also decrease the time you have to invest in mastering the Site Builder.

Videos are the best tutorials for learning the Intuit Sitebuilder content. That’s why we continue to publish new tutorials regularly. They are much easier to follow and understand than any other method of learning. The reasons are obvious. You get audio and visual- which make learning easier than trying to sift through understanding what someone is trying to explain in a text document. Even if an e-book or article has image graphics, it’s much quicker and easier to comprehend by learning from a tutorial video lesson.

All of our Homestead Sitebuilder tutorials give accurate, detailed information. In fact, we have never had anyone ever demand that a refund be issued due to receiving poor information. The tools, tips or techniques we provide in the tutorial lessons are beneficial in many ways.

Here are a few Youtube tutorials offering Intuit/Homestead website help.

* Beginners link building

Choose what products you want to try and sell

Copy and paste the final HTML code into the sitebuilder page on your Intuit website

Adding Amazon Products to a Homestead Website

All you have to do is click on the “Add HTML” icon in the sitebuilder and enter the code for the items you selected at Amazon to display on your website in the properties editor to the right.

As an example of one of the optional display items, the carousel above is from the Amazon website. I personally selected what I wanted to be in the display. I will only make money if someone clicks a selection and then purchases something from the Amazon site.

Through the years I have benefited from the Amazon Associates program. I originally learned how to make money using Adsense and then my second income stream was the Amazon Affiliate program. Today I have over twenty different income streams online. The more income streams you can get built and the faster you can drive traffic to your Intuit/Homestead website, the more money you will make online.

When adding someones website in connection to your content you must make sure that the link opens in a new window. If you don’t your visitor will be off to a different Internet neighborhood and may never return to your page.

In recent months I read an article from an SEO Pro who was stressing the importance of occasionally including an anchor text link to a high page rank site in the first two paragraphs of an article. If we are going to do this type of thing to achieve higher placements with the search engines, then we are going to have to make certain that we don’t send them away forever. What good would it do to get a high ranking spot on Google just to have our potential customer click off within the first few seconds of landing on the page?

Something that I generally practice doing is after I write an article I always check the connections to other sites to ensure that I remembered to set the new page to open in a different window. If you are anything like me, I get so caught up in designing the pages that sometimes I forget when adding a link to another neighborhood website to make it open in a different browser window.

A person who is educated in getting top placements on Google with an Intuit/Homestead website can be considered an SEO Pro. I say this because the SiteBuilder program is not user-friendly when it comes to achieving high placements within the search engines.

Learning professional techniques to implement can make an amazing difference in how your Sitebuilder pages get ranked with the search engines. These strategies are not available just anywhere though. Information like this is valuable and therefore it generally takes an investment of money to learn about how to get top placements within Google, Yahoo and Bing.

There are more than seven things that must be done correctly inside the internal structure of your Sitebuilder website. If they are not done, the search engines (SE) will not like your pages.

It is very possible that many of your website pages are not being picked up by the major SE because the Site Builder has one major hindrance.

This problem is revealed in the Homestead Optimization Course. It explains how you can get around the issue.

What is SEO?
The term stands for “search engine optimization.” It basically means that there are specific things that Google, Yahoo and Bing (the three major search engines) are looking for to determine what your website is about. Once the Google bots have collected loads of data related to your site, the system determines where you get placed in the results pages.

If you have learned SEO from a pro as it relates to your Intuit/Homestead website, then you will have a good chance of placing well in the results pages.

If someone is a pro at getting top placements or in moving a website higher up in the results pages, then they have studied extensively from more resources than just “One eBook” with a few pages about Homestead website optimization.

I have been studying SEO for several years on a daily basis and have a very good handle on what is “working” as optimization relates to our Intuit/Homestead websites.

SEO tricks and techniques are constantly evolving and changing on a daily basis.

Some Internet professionals are saying that search engine optimization is changing more quickly than the medical profession. With the rapid evolution of what is referred to as “Web 2.0” and the pace at which things are changing in general on the web, if you are going to succeed with an Internet business or hobby site- you will need that leverage power attained from becoming educated on the subject from several sources beyond just your own Intuit Site Builder website.

Did you know that it is possible for one person to literally dominate the first two pages of the SERPS (search engine results pages) by leveraging the power of social media and “Web 2.0”? That’s another topic all in itself which SEO pros understand.

Your competition will use social media to literally BURY your website if you do not learn how to use “Web 2.0” to your advantage. Howey Swartz calls his social media strategies “Web 2.0 As A Weapon.”

What worked three years ago may still help our websites today to place well with the search engines, but Google is changing things so rapidly that professional SEO’s must continually keep in touch with what’s happening. One of the websites which I frequent to keep up with the fast-paced world of search engine optimization is “Web Pro News”.

If you want to learn from a reliable SEO pro, these Intuit/Homestead Sitebuilder-Optimization lessons will give you a solid foundation upon which to build.

Within the last two months, those of us who monitor SEO on a daily basis have seen natural listings get pushed down by three changes which Google has made.

1) Local search and Google maps are getting top priority in the search results.
2) Real Time news feeds are topping the first page of the SERPS.
3) Authority “brand-name” sites are getting three top listings on the front page of Google.

An SEO pro is constantly recognizing how the search engine results pages are changing. Another quality that the search engine optimization professional exhibits is his attentiveness to updating constantly on the ever-changing means about how to get better rankings for their customers within the midst of the changes.

Sitebuilder users who want to get natural (free) search traffic are going to have to start using the availability of “Web 2.0” sites in connection with their web pages and put forth effort to learn website optimization for their Intuit/Homestead website from an SEO pro.

Recently I watched an excellent video about what can be accomplished within a month of starting a new blog when hard work and a business mindset unite. We can learn very important guidelines for starting a successful blog from this video review about the Planting Dollars site. It was developed by Lisa on her “2 Create A Website” blog.

The inspiration for the title of THIS post, (“Stop Whining; Start Working on Your Website!”) was realized about twelve minutes into the video. As I listened to Lisa talking about how success is the direct result of working a plan, I recalled when the light was turned on for me. The turning point of my Internet success came when I made a commitment to post one article per day on a blog that I manage. Because I did not get discouraged and continued to work towards my goal, my blog now has over eight hundred visitors per day after only one year.

Much of my determination to NOT GIVE UP was due to one person who posted a comment in the Website Babble forum in response to my whining about how slow things were going with making money on the Internet.

They simply said: “Hang in there, it’s definitely worth the wait.” I am in total agreement with that statement now.

Since then my online income has steadily increased, but the upward change in revenue came as a direct result of being persistent in steadily working on improving my sites.

As I have mentioned in prior posts, we must treat our website business like a regular job and not as a hobby.

When we look at where we have come from and set short obtainable goals for where we want to get to eventually, our accomplishments reach great heights. Rome was not built in a day. In this video-blog- post called “Get on the Treadmill With me and You’re Getting Off First”- Will Smith tells a story about how a wall is built by laying one brick at a time into perfect position.

I can assure you that if you will be persistent, stop whining and start working on improving your website- building skills and online business growth, passive income will be the result of your efforts.

That’s the beauty of making money on the Internet. Once we learn how to automate our systems and duplicate the things that are working, we will enjoy recurring fruit from our labor.

What arrangement really works best on your Intuit/Homestead website for making the most sales, do you know? Testing pages in order to narrow down the focus is very important. I recently increased sales of some of my products tremendously by just removing a few things on the page. The items that I took off of the page were designed to collect email addresses. They worked very well for that purpose, but the sales volume of the products on the page went down when I added the free eBooks.

If you are anything like me, whenever I download an e-book I go to my inbox immediately to look at it. I’m certain that this was such a distraction from my products that people never returned to the page. The download included two free books. That was a lot of information for people to sift through.

While testing the web site’s sales page, the day I took the email optin and the books off of the page, I had three sales. That was a real eye opener because up until then I had only made two sales in about two weeks while the free downloads were on the page.

On another product’s page, I simply moved the submit button and price for purchasing the item from the top of the page to the bottom and the sales increased. I always try designing Intuit website pages so that they can be easily changed.

Continually testing and monitoring results is vitally important to the success of making money on the Internet. Many big name Internet marketers agree that the more focused a page can be for one item the better. If your goal is to collect an email address then every thing should squeeze the person to submit their email address when they land on the page. If the goal of the sales page is to sell a product, the product should be the main attraction of the page. It’s important to keep the main thing the main thing.

Intuit websites work really well for designing sales pages and then making changes to them as you are testing. Because the Homestead Sitebuilder program is so easy to use, it doesn’t take a lot of effort to move things around periodically to see what works the best.

There are several ways of marketing your Intuit website by Homestead. Much of your strategy will depend upon your niche and what your goals are. The tips I give you in this article will get you going in the right direction. I will be discussing a couple of advertising platforms that you can pay for and also some free ways of marketing your niche site.

Google Adwords
This program is free to join and will not cost you anything until your advertisements are clicked on. The way this marketing program works is that you use your credit card to put money into your account. The next step is to create your advertisements. This is a great way to get your website a lot of traffic fast and it can also cost a bundle if you don’t know what you are doing. There are places to learn correct ways of marketing where you won’t be wasting your money. The Adwords set-up is a wonderful way to market your Intuit website. Just make sure you get a good education about PPC before you start using the system.

Using Ezine Articles
This form of promoting your niche site is called article marketing. Create an account with article directories like Ezine Articles, Go Articles or Article Cube. Write keyword focused content and add an anchor text link in the author bio section at the bottom of the page directing people to your Intuit website page.

Youtube
Download a screen recorder or get a Flip UltraHD Camcorder that shoots videos which can be uploaded to Youtube fast and easily. The Flip recorder is simple to use and creates outstanding videos.

Include information about your Intuit website in your Youtube videos and also a link in the the “more info” section of the video description box. Youtube is a very popular way to get your name on the Internet fast. The great thing about videos is if you choose good keyword phrases in your titles the videos show up on the first page of Google often. This type of website promotion will establish you as an authority in your niche quickly.

Those are three of the quickest and easiest ways for marketing and promoting your Intuit website. The Homestead SEO Videos, from the Homestead Users site will teach you how to get free traffic through the search engines. This is by far one of the best methods of generating lasting traffic for free and promoting your site.

Click here for a free trial and Homestead Sitebuilder review.

When I started getting serious about Internet marketing, I posted a no-cost download on one of the pages of my Homestead Users website. The idea behind this method of making more money online is that once you collect an email address, in exchange for the free product, you can then market to the customer as often as you like. The Sitebuilder has an newsletter feature that you can start collecting email addresses with.

By joining Aweber I was able to set up an email auto responder that automatically sends the free downlaod to the opt-in subscriber. It is a wonderful way to establish relationships and credibility with your potential customers. As long as you don’t bombard the people who opted in on your Homestead website email list with junk mail, they generally won’t unsubscribe.

The most popular free download that people use is an eBook. I suggest that you make your own by following our tutorial on How to Make a PDF eBook Using Open Office. Inside of your book you can create clickable links that will send your potential customers to your website’s product page or affiliate links.

One thing that I learned recently is that you should have one goal when people land on your pages. If you mix up a free download with products that you are trying to sell, oftentimes the visitor will click- off of your Intuit/Homestead website to go and get the free download from their in-box. If you want your visitors to buy something, then focus on selling your products. If you are trying to collect an email address, then set up a free download and email address collection system.

Some Internet marketers use free trials or products to lure customers in, then they put the subscriber on a membership recurring-payment plan. This is a tactic that Russel Bronson is using right now in a program called Micro Continuity. The visitor to the website sees something for free and finds out that there is a shipping and handling charge associated with getting the offer. Once the credit card information is taken, the free product is delivered and the customer is then placed on a recurring billing cycle to either receive more products or have access to a member’s area.

There is great power in using the word “free” on your Intuit/Homestead website. For example, you will find on this Homestead website builder review page that the “free trial text” and the “red arrow” are a good working combination for moving the customers in the proper direction. Everyone likes to get something for nothing, especially if it is something of value. Being able to try something out first before having to pay for it is a great way to sell something.

So, consider giving away something in exchange for an email address or set a customer up on a membership billing cycle after they get their first month for free. You can offer a free trial and then have them automatically billed through your Paypal account.

One of the things that has impressed me the most about interacting with the Intuit web site building company is their tech support team. I cannot ever remember having an issue that they could not resolve. They have always been polite, well educated with the Homestead hosting plan options and very helpful at teaching me about questionable things I faced within the Site Builder software program.

There was a time when I had to wrestle with the Homestead Storefront program. I surely learned a huge lesson then about trying to learn a new website building program. Afterward, I made a decision to avoid building storefronts because there was too much HTML coding involved. The difficulty came when the tech support engineers at Homestead told me that many of the problems I was experiencing were due to the HTML code being messed up. The Homestead tech support employees are not allowed to alter or offer advice about altering the HTML code. Storefront is far from being anything like the Site Builder program. There are very few things inside that are point, click, drag and drop in the web page building program. The new learning curve was huge. The best thing to do is just go with the basics in the program and not try to customize anything. In any event, I eventually finished the customer’s online clothing store with the help of the Intuit/Homestead tech support team. I could not have accomplished the task without their help.

In the past few years they have helped me learn how the Hmail email system works. On another occasion they explained all of the features in the Real Tracker statistics program. When I transferred several domain names over to Godaddy, the tech support person helped walk me through the entire process.

On several occasions I have purchased domain names with Godaddy, but built the websites with the Homestead SiteBuilder system. The tech agent from Homestead and also with Godaddy both assisted me in getting the website and domain name set up correctly. The process involved changing DNS numbers and servers which at the time was just a little bit over my head.

Never hesitate to contact the Intuit Company with your web design questions, billing issues, email problems or domain pointing issues. It has been my experience that if the person you are working with on the phone cannot answer your question; they will get someone who can.

I wrote a Homestead website builder review that gave the tech support team five stars. In the years of working with this excellent hosting company, I have had nothing to really complain about other than my own stupidity with not understanding HTML code when I was working with the storefront program. Although it was disappointing at the time because the tech support personnel are instructed to not work with the HTML code, a couple of them did anyway to fix my mess-ups. For their help, I am extremely grateful.

A big THANKS! to all of the Intuit Homestead SiteBuilder tech support team for the help that you provide for all of us. You truly are greatly appreciated.

Have you heard of the term that Internet web designers use called “above the fold?” This phrase is used to describe everything that a visitor sees on their computer screen, at first glance, when they open a web page on your Homestead website. It is in this area that the most important product or information on your web page needs to be creatively placed.

When people scroll down and new information enters the computer screen that is what’s referred to as the content that was below the fold.

Internet marketers will place the most valued information on their affiliate websites above the fold.

When a visitor comes to our website, we literally have a couple of seconds to capture their attention. If we do not immediately grip them tightly with something intriguing, they will fly away as quickly as they came.

What are some of the things we see above the fold that seem to work well for arresting some ones attention?

Above the fold attention grabbers:

•	Photos
•	Videos
•	Automatic audio messages
•	Orange colored items seem to attract the eye
•	Large amounts of white space

White Space
Using large amounts of white space above the fold is an amazing attention grabber. I don’t know about you, but if I log onto a website that is filled with clutter, it doesn’t take but just a moment for me to click off the page. Google is the king when it comes to designing website pages with white space. Just look at this Google doodle of the Sesame Street Cookie Monster at the top of this page. Notice how your eyes are drawn to the bright colors in the center of the page, above the fold.

Photos
A photo is worth a thousand words. It’s the ones that you just want to stare at forever that work well above the fold. I always review the content of a page which has an image that grabs my attention. If you decide to add a large photo, reduce the file size to below seventy two dpi. This article on optimizing homestead website images will give you pointers on how to reduce the file size of a photo.

Videos
With the present Internet age, using videos to capture people’s attention is an ever increasing method for getting visitors to stay on a website. Some people will have the videos start automatically. If you want to have a video self-start above the fold when a visitor enters your website, there are several free tutorials online that give the method for making an auto play Youtube video.

I mentioned the use of the color orange above the fold as an attention grabber. Many Internet marketers are creating their click here buttons using the color orange. I’ve even seen really large optin email forms decorated in this particular color. The main thing is that the attention grabber gets placed above the fold.

Take a few moments to think about your Homestead website design. What things do you have above the fold? Are your website pages designed in such a way that people are drawn to stay? Because the SiteBuilder is so easy to work with, making changes above the fold will take a minimal amount of time. If you are not having much success getting people to stay on your website, perhaps you should consider redesigning what is above the fold. If you are selling products think about what you can do differently to get them to buy.
