I had a very similar situation a few years back. The client asked me to revise his existing website. He was a sculptor and he had many pictures of his works. There were no descriptions on any of the pictures. Since he did not tell me what to write under the photos I just put in what I felt was appropriate. Then one day I get a call from him and he wants the website to go live for a show he was attending. There wasn't much I could say, so I launched the website. He was not happy with some of the titles I gave to his sculptures. He complained but he still paid me. I could not get him to give me any follow up work on his website. Sometimes you have to go with your first inclination. I have learned that it is best to have pre set calls to the customer even if things are going well with your project.

I can't imagine that this could have been handled any other way really. I may know more later since I just started implementing my services to create blogs for first timers. Sure, I want them to give me their choice of free themes and it will just be the initial set up with a few additions to their sidebar but overall, they will be responsible for eventually purchasing a theme or having someone create one for them. I know there is a lot of work involved in this type of project, wanting to get it just right and doing the best for your customer. Especially if they are a friend.

But I think you did great for the information that you were given.

I use homestead often for my customers in the service industry who need simple informational sites. This information is extremely useful for me and my customers. I am new to optimizing this type of site, and will start implementing some of these techniques right away.
Thanks!

Very helpful and simple. I had already found Google Analytics instructions from Google, but hearing Homestead describe the process gave me some additional confidence. I am not an HTML programmer, not even close.

Your help was AMAZING. I couldn't figure out how to rename pages from the Homestead help section. I wonder why it's so clumsy. Thanks a lot.

Hey -
I am a true believer in the Homestead platform as well. But recently, my email is continually getting blacklisted. I was told that one email address could not exceed 30 messages in 30 minutes or 50 recipieents in 30 minutes.
#1. I'm not coming close to those numbers.
#2. That is the stupidest rule I ever heard.

I am like you. I provide web support and design to organizations in my area. But they are forcing off this platform with their erroneous attempts to block spammers. I'm not spamming, just communicating with customers, i.e. running my business.

Do you have any thoughts on this? Do you know how to set up email@yourdomain.com through gmail? I know people do it. It would save money and solve my problem.

Any thoughts you have are appreciated.

Hi Geri, there is not a limit on the number of subscribers, but there's a linit on how many people you can email to in a day.

The last I heard is was fifty people per email blast.

You can schedule to send a "mass" email to your list with Intuit.

You must notify them how many emails will be sent, and what time you plan on sending it.
