Does your opinion matter to Google about what is showing in the search results? Apparently so because they have a designated forum thread where you can share your thoughts about what has been happening in the search results since the update went live.

Have your rankings taken a big dive since the Farmer/Panda update that Goolge initiated? Did you experience a giant drop in traffic? Where can you tell Google about what has happened?

If you are one of the unfortunate ones who fall in the twelve percent 12% of the websites that have been negatively effected by the Panda move, you can voice your opinion in the Google forum.

Now, they have made it clear that this was an algorithm change. Here’s a small bit of what is posted on the forum thread where you can voice your opinion:

“Note that as this is an algorithmic change we are unable to make manual exceptions, but in cases of high quality content we can pass the examples along to the engineers who will look at them as they work on future iterations and improvements to the algorithm. “

I was one of the fortunate ones whose sites did not get hit by the Farmer update. However, many of my pages have been forced down a placement or two because eHow or Demand Media pages seemed to have gotten a favorable raise out of the update.

There are several people who have voiced their opinion about Demand Media and the shallow content that this website manufactures in the one million pages they publish every month. This video is well worth watching http://techcrunch.com/2011/02/03/how-google-ambushed-microsoft-and-changed-the-subject/.  In it,  Google is actually accused by Microsoft of being the ones responsible for all of the trash content on the Internet because of Adsense publishers pumping out poor content to make a quick buck.

The changes that were made were supposed to be targeting the large content farms and scraper sites. Ezine Articles reported a significantly big drop in traffic after the last Panda algorithm tweak. While eHow still dominates the front-page of Google throughout a large scale of niche topics.

If I’ve learned anything at all since I’ve been publishing pages to the Internet, things can change for the good or bad in an instant. When Google makes changes, inevitably there are going to be large and small websites who get hit hard, experience huge drops in traffic and have big changes to make in order to recover. This is why I feel it’s important to be diversified and have several websites and blogs about various niche topics that you are knowledgeable about.

The way the program works is that you write an article related to your niche and then use the SEO Linkvine article spinner. The spinner turns one article into hundreds if not thousands of different articles. It’s recommend that you spin the content to at least fifty percent. There is a percentage meter that shows your progress as you are spinning the article.

You are allowed to have two links pointing to your website in each article.

There is a gigantic community of bloggers that the articles are presented to “slowly” over time. The distribution process is set to make the posting of your unique articles look natural to the search engines. As blog owners review your content many decide to use one of your spun articles on their blog. When they publish the article, you then get two backlinks pointing to your site and they get an “original” article to post on their page.

It took me about one hour to spin an article to 80%. Once I gave the SEO Link Vine system permission to start presenting the spun articles to blog owners, it took about two weeks for thirty backlinks to be built. Now that was from just one spun article. The potential to easily build hundreds of backlinks every month is great.

I’ve repeatedly written articles and produced videos that inform Intuit users that there are seven things that must be done correctly and three that should never be done within the Sitebuilder.

Write plenty of content!
I always recommend that you should have NO LESS than five hundred words to a page. If you visit the business sites we featured in the video, you will discover that the pages have plenty of content on them. Search engines understand what your niche is about by the words that are on your pages. If you want to be found for a phrase, the words of that phrase MUST be on your page!

Selecting a Domain Name:
It’s vitally important that your domain name be related to the niche you will be publishing content about. If you noticed on the video, we found domain names that were very specific to the keyword phrases that people would most likely be using to find their business.

Link Your Pages Correctly:
Always use “anchor” text links on the internal structure of your website. By visiting the sites featured in the clip, you will discover that we linked keyword phrases throughout the Sitebuilder pages.

New websites very rarely start out getting top results with the search engines. Google has something that is called the “sandbox”. When you first publish your site, it takes a little while for the search engines to sift through your details in order to deem you as a legitimate site. If you present site has been up for a while and is hardly showing up with search engines, then you have probably not configured things properly.

Google has certain things that they look at when the Spiders visit a website. If you have these things in proper order, then your chances are much better for getting a higher ranking in the SERPS (search engine results pages). If you do not know what you are doing and just make a website using the pre-made templates, your chances are really slim at getting any search engine traffic at all. That’s just the plain truth!

Here’s how I started to untangle the mystery. The first thing I did was to check the amount of back-links that his competitor had coming into their website. So, I clicked on “write a review” for my client’s website and began writing an “Optimized” review. When I finished with it, I then closed out the window and refreshed my browser. Next, I entered our keyword phrase in the Google search box and hit “search.” Bata-Bing! I had unlocked the door and we were now stepping on the competitors’ heads. Within minutes I had turned the table upside down and we were once again number one on Google.

One thing I noticed right away when I looked at the review after doing the search is that the caches for the keywords were in “bold”. This was a huge indicator that the placement of the business in the results ranking was directly affected by the richness of the keywords on the review page.

Since discovering these tips, I have notified several friends and clients of mine and encouraged them to get their customers to write a review in the Google local Business Listings. These are the types of things we must continually do with “optimization” to improve our personal rankings and the positions of our clients’ web locations in the search results pages.

No longer is getting traffic from Google, Yahoo and Bing to one website the main focus of the experts. As search results providers change and the social media explosion continues, traffic-getters are utilizing an uncounted number of sources for driving people to their sites. If we want to market our Homestead websites effectively we are going to have to learn some new strategies.

These are power websites because they dominate the search engine results pages. An Ezine article can get a top listing within minutes of being published and stay in the first position for months to even years.

Success in getting traffic to your Intuit website is now dependent on building a “niche” community around your site. By leveraging the use of many websites search engine optimization is being redefined.

It’s no longer just about your site getting a top listing. If you are going to compete, you will need to drive traffic to your Intuit website from many different directions by leveraging many of the free blogs, article directories and video membership websites.

Learning how to use other domains in your search engine optimization strategy is going to take a large investment of your time. First you will have to create a membership with each site and then it will be necessary to learn how to use their web page publishing tools. Every site presents a new learning curve. Here’s the thing though, once you begin to write optimized content and start publishing your articles through the use of these power sites, it is possible to own three to five listings on the front-page of Google in a matter of moments. Point all of these articles and videos to your Intuit website through the use of click-able links and your chances of getting more traffic will increase dramatically.

The above strategy will only work though if you understand how to optimize an Intuit website for search engines.

Go to Godaddy and sign up for a basic hosting account. Once you are set up, contact tech support and get them to set up your domain name with a WordPress blog. Once you do this, you can choose from the many templates that the blog offers. Settings up one of these blogs is like having a blog on steroids. If you will consistently add content to your pages, it must be optimized content though; you will see a steady increase in traffic over the long run.

My WordPress blog is hosted at Godaddy. A small hosting account costs less than ten dollars per month. The Word press blog is free to set up.

I used three plug-ins on the blog to help get all of these visitors.

There is a learning curve that goes along with learning how to use WordPress. Once you learn who to work with the Widgets, Plugins, and selecting templates, you will do just fine. It’s not a point, click,drag and drop system like the Intuit/Homestead Site Builder. You select a template and can start adding content right away.

• Tip: Google loves blogs. Whenever you write an article , sometimes within seconds Google will index the page and put it int he search engines results. Yes, I said seconds! Start a blog related to your niche and then create links from your blog pointing to your Intuit/Homstead website pages. Post new articles ojn a daily basis. Eventually traffic will pour into your blog and find your main website with Intuit through your blog.

I always go to Youtube any time that I want to learn something about working with WordPress. They have hundreds of tutorials. Just keep the blog simple and focus on adding content on a daily basis.

The video starts by showing one months worth of traffic and then I change the demonstration to reflect a chart graph showing the steady climb in website visitors, over the past ten and a half months. The peek so far has reached six hundred and seventy five visits in one day.

This is very exciting because the highest percentage of traffic is all free from search engines. I have never paid for any advertisements for this site ever.

A few visitors come from Twitter and Ezine Articles, but Google is responsible for well over ninety percent of the traffic.

Do three things first to help get indexed with search engines.

1)    Submit my site to Google.com (refer to the pictures below).

2)    Create a back link-If you create a free account at Goarticles.com you can write an article about your niche. In the author’s bio section you can include the address of your website. Make sure that you post the entire URL (example: ‘http://www.mysite.com’) in this section.

3)     You must learn Homestead website optimization. What does that mean? Well, inside the SiteBuilder there are specific things that must be done correctly in order for the search engines to even look at your pages. How you check to see the Real Tracker traffic results for your SiteBuilder pages is done through your main account login. The system is rather easy to use once you spend a little time learning the ropes. Discovering how many people are coming to your pages and how they are getting there can be extremely helpful for building an Internet presence. Once you understand the importance of this, the way you manage your Site will change for the better.

Steps For Checking Website Statistics

Step 1

Start by logging into your main Homestead website account area. The login page can be found by going to Homestead.com. Once there, in the upper right hand corner there is a place to click on “login.” Enter your name and password in the text boxes and click on submit.

When you enter the account area, in the center of the page will be a dropdown box, choose the website that you want to check your statistics for. You will have to wait several seconds while the page automatically refreshes its self.

Directly below the dropdown box, where you selected your website choice from, is a phrase that says: “View your website statistics,” left click on that.

Now the Real Tracker statistics page will show up in a new window. There are several different visitors’ stats that are recorded and stored in the program. To master the entire database operations is going to take a while. Usually, my main concern is checking to see how people found my SiteBuilder pages. There are many valuable functions inside the Real Tracker. Here are a few of the programs titles with some brief descriptions of the statistics that they yield.

Selecting The Date Range

On the left hand side of the page you can select specific date ranges that you want to study.

The Totals Section

In this section you can view the total amounts of traffic that you are getting to your Homestead website pages in graph form. The style of the graph display can be altered to reflect the amount of visitors that you incurred either by individual days, weeks, months or annually.

The Last One Hundred

This is my favorite part of the Real Tracker statistics tool. It displays the most recent one hundred visitors to your Homestead SiteBuilder pages. The display will show the exact phrase that they used to find your website through a search engine. It will tell you which search engine they used to find you with. You can click on the keyword phrase link and it will then open into the exact search results page and show you where your keyword phrase ranked on the page.

Behavior

This section of the website stats puts everything in order by quantity. When you open the statistics area the table will show which pages of your website are getting traffic from the most visited pages to the least.

Learning how to check traffic statistics will be very helpful with improving the amount of traffic that you get to your Homestead site’s pages. Once you understand which search terms that people are using to find you, then you can make minor or even major adjustments to make your SiteBuilder pages more appealing.

Internet marketers who succeed online keep a close watch on the stats for website traffic compared to the conversion of sales. They are forever altering, tweaking, adjusting and changing pages to bring more positive results.

4) Keywords are not profitable- If you are not focusing on good keywords that are related to your niche, then you will not be getting much traffic to your Homestead site. You have to think about what someone would type into a search box in order to find your site.
